Start with Cliff-Top Wanderings
Begin your winter walk at the iconic and recently updated Felixstowe Pier, where North Sea can give a stiff cold breeze in the winter season. Follow the cliff-top path for breathtaking panoramic views of the North Sea. There is plenty of parking at the top and the paths down the seaside gardens are lovely, although slippy in winter.

Next up, Winter Gardens and Languard Nature Reserve
If nature is more your thing, you can venture into the Winter Gardens and Languard Nature Reserve. The beautiful landscape transforms into a tranquil haven during the colder months, the are often brings many people to visit, just for the nature. Observe the winter birds, and if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of seals basking in the sunshine. Although fairly rare, they do pop up and say hello.
For dog walkers too, this area is sprawling and with some higher ground, you can get a good panoramic view of the sea and surrounding areas. The Languard also boasts a cafe that is very close to the port. Positioned with suitable car parking, the area is also very popular with locals. An excellent place to eat your fish and chips as many do.

Seafront Stroll and Bracing Pier Walk:
The seafront promenade is probably the most notable part of the seafront, especially for taking in the invigorating sea breeze. Reach the far end of the pier and take a bracing walk along the deck. The contrast between the chilly air and the warm colors of the sunset creates a magical atmosphere and the container ships out at sea are often captivating to see.

This is a very historic building and one of suffolkwalks.com personal favourites. The food is of the quality you would expect and has a selection of drinks so there is plenty ot choose from. Relax by the fireplace with a glass of wine and relish the charming ambiance with its very nicely finished rooms. The outdoor area is very popular during the summer time as it is a stones throw from the beach. During the winter there are brave ones who venture outside. But if you want to stay in the area, they also boast accommodation which is also a real draw for people far and wide.
Manning’s Amusements Café:
For a more casual setting, head to Manning’s Amusements Café. Conveniently located near the pier, it’s the perfect spot to grab a quick bite or a comforting bowl of soup. The friendly atmosphere and seaside views make it a popular choice for locals and visitors alike.
